My name is Rob Cusick, and I’m a photographer and videographer based in the greater New York City area. I discovered my passion for photography at 17, capturing surfers riding waves in front of the iconic Casino Pier in New Jersey a surf spot later devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Around that time, I founded CNJsurf.com, a website dedicated to surf photography across Ocean County, NJ.
In 2007, I attended the Hallmark Institute of Photography, completing an intensive 10-month certification program. There, I gained a strong foundation in product photography, portraiture, technical photography, marketing, finance, and the essential skills required to succeed as a well-rounded visual artist.
After completing the program, I focused on e-commerce studio photography—working with models and tabletop product shoots for clients including Urban Outfitters Brands, Century 21 Stores NYC, South Moon Under, and Jet.com.
I've also had the privilege of collaborating with exceptional creative teams at Red Bull Media House, Verizon Wireless, and McgarryBowen.
Today, my work is centered around storytelling in the commercial lifestyle and product space through both photography and cinematography. I'm currently available for freelance and full-time opportunities, and I also enjoy working with small business owners to help bring their brand stories to life through compelling visual content.
